Rafer Alston and Ashley Walker Wedding

NBA guard Rafer Alston married “Basketball Wives” star Ashley Walker at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida on July 26, 2012.

The wedding was planned by Audi Brown of Occasions by Audi, and took place at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, a Victorian style chapel on a private island.

The nuptials had a fairytale theme, complete with Cinderella’s carriage and a fireworks show. For the bride, who grew up going to Disney World each year, the idea of having a princess style wedding was a dream come true.

She wore a strapless jeweled wedding dress by Pnina Tornai for the vows, paired with hot pink Christian Louboutin heels.

Her bridesmaids, including Juwan Howard’s wife, Jenine Howard, and Tracy McGrady’s wife Clerenda McGrady, wore pink dresses.

The couple’s two sons, Jordan and Reese, were also in the wedding party.

The ceremony took place at the chapel surrounded by the Seven Seas Lagoon. Ashley walked down a rose petal aisle with a custom monogrammed runner.

A Renaissance costumed Major Domo presented the weddings rings on a pillow, and the couple took part in a candle lighting ceremony.

At the conclusion of the vows, guests tossed pink rose petals on the newlyweds and they were transported to the reception in Cinderella’s coach.

A celebration followed at the Grand Floridian Resort where the room was decorated with floor to ceiling metallic draping.

La Tavola linens in shades of fuchsia and silver covered each table. Floral arrangements, by Tommy Murphy of Greenery Productions, included hybrid lilies and spray roses in tall silver and glass crystal candelabras.

Before the night was over, two wedding cakes were served including a Disney cake created to look like Cinderella’s castle, and a groom’s cake modeled after Yankee Stadium.

As dessert was served, guests were led outside for Disney’s fireworks show on the terrace.

The evening ended with second line music complete with passed umbrellas and handkerchiefs honoring the bride’s New Orleans heritage.
